Skipit General

We believe everybody should be able to travel local. That is why we want to everybody ‘Skip’ the hassle, and simply go explore.

We provide two key services: 
1. A cross boarder digital payment card for local transport that makes it easier for you to use local transport in multiple cities. 
2. A personalised neighbourhood inspiration feed to connect our community with local businesses and communities. 

You can use your Skipit card in Helsinki, and buy a city pass in Copenhagen hold tight we are bringing new cities to you very soon.

We provide this service because we believe everybody should be able to travel like a local in a new city and we want to help everyone create green cities.

We are a team of diverse nationalities, backgrounds, experiences and expertise. All working hard to empower everybody to travel like a local. 

We work together with transport providers across multiple cities. We do this through partnerships and collaborations. Helping our community get access to local transport. 

We have a big focus on sustainable transportation. Currently we are focused on Public transport but we want to include any urban mobility option that is good for the planet in the future. 

GPS is needed when using the app for us to provide the best service for you. 

COVID-19 has had a massive impact on the world of travel, we always recommend to always double check with the local transport providers to stay up to date with any changes due to COVID-19.

The Skipit card is a digital cross border payment solution. In which you can easily pay for public transport locally in multiple cities.

Simply plan a journey and we will return to you the best ticket for your journey, once you have purchased the ticket you can find the ticket again by pressing on the Skipit card.

If you need to “Top up” your skipit card simply click on the amount you want to top up and verify your identification and you are good to go.

Send us an email to [email protected] with a copy of your fine, and we will be in touch as soon as possible to help you.

Go to your “profile page” then to “Settings” and then to “payment card” and follow the instructions”

You can currently use your Skipit card in Helsinki, Zurich and buy a city pass in Copenhagen. We are bringing new cities to you very soon.

The phone battery should be sufficient for the entire journey. Ticket inspectors can give you a travel fine if it is not possible to inspect the ticket on the phone screen.

Your Skipit card is only able to pay for public transportation.

We will send you an overview of your Transaction to your email, everytime you use our service.

You can click on the ‘Destination’ field and input your desire destination. In order to change your starting point away from your current location, simply press on ‘current location’ and type in a new starting destination. 

You can use the icon. “i” in the bottom right hand corner to find transport maps and other useful tools. 

You can change the time and date of your journey by pressing the drop down menu entitled “choose a time”. 

Simply press the “Go” icon. 

Simply drag up the details of your journey from the bottom of the screen while in journey mode.  

At the moment you can only buy one ticket when your travel, we are working to change this. In the mean time, if your friend or family needs a ticket why not get them to download the app! 

Once you have bought your ticket, you can find your tickets for inspection via pressing on the Skipit card. 

Simply send us an email and we will organise your refund.

We are sorry to say, there is not way to get a refund from an accidentally purchased ticket. 

The neighbourhood wheel helps to move around the different neighbourhoods around Helsinki in order to find the moment or destination you desire to Go Explore. 

These icons show the community each moment belongs to, in order to find out what other users are following.

You can click on top of the emojis located on the left bottom corner below each moment and find the tagged communities.

The `Go´ button allows you to select the trip from your current location to the selected moment destination.

The save icon allows you to add a picture to your bucket list found under `My Moments´ folder so you can start collecting a list of your favourite inspiration from around the city.

The share button allows you to have access to the photos and camera functions, in order for you to upload a moment and inspire others.

A moment is a picture or content uploaded to the inspiration feed.  We share our moments to help each other to go explore.

A ‘Bucket list’ is your wish list or your todo list. You can gather inspiration from similar travellers to yourself and go experience local.

Your uploaded moments are your pictures that you have shared with the Skipit community to help them explore the different neighbourhoods of a city.

My “Followed communities” help you to create a personalised neighbourhood inspiration feed, by following communities that have similar interests to you.

If you have forgotten your password you can change it via the “forgot my password” button on the sign up page or change your password via the settings under “profile” and “change password” button.

To update your payment card linked to your Skipit card go to “profile” and “payment card option” and press “update”.
